Highclere Castle, Downtown Abbey

Visit this spectacular castle, used as the setting for the popular TV period drama, Downton Abbey. Highclere is a 19th century country house in the Jacobethan style, with a park designed by Capability Brown. The 5,000-acre estate is in Hampshire is the country seat of the Earl of Carnarvon.

When Highclere Castle is shut during the off season we will substitute that part of the tour with a trip to Blenheim  Palace, the principal residence of the Dukes of Marlborough and the village of Bampton. This is where much of the external filming was done and features a beautiful church where Mary was married to Matthew and Edith was jilted at the altar!

Also currently home to an Egyptian Exhibition with a replica of the discovery of Tutankhamun (Subject to ticket availability).

Cancellations

Our Terms & Conditions in respect of cancellations are as follows:

Up to 7 days prior:           75% of the tour price is refundable

From 7 to 2 days prior:   50% of the tour price is refundable

Less than 48 hours:         The full tour price is non-refundable
